Courses / Curriculum What Will I Study?
Students in the Psychology & Mental Health Studies major will study:
- The historical and contemporary pioneers responsible for a diverse approach to understanding human behavior and mental health
- Personal and professional ethics in the helping professions and the systems for making ethical decisions
- Human development from infancy through adulthood
- Quantitative and qualitative research methods
- The types, nature, and causes of major behavioral disorders
- Christian faith as it relates to helping people and the influence of Christianity on society
Credit Requirements
62 semester credit hours must be completed to enter a major. To graduate with a bachelor's degree, you must complete a total of 120 semester credit hours as follows:

Format
- The Psychology & Mental Health Studies major is offered 100% online
- You will attend a synchronous cohort launch at the beginning of the major via Zoom, followed by 16 months of online course work in a cohort of peers
- All major courses are offered one at a time in a sequential, condensed, accelerated format

A Certificate in Behavioral Health is offered for students enrolled in the program. Courses focus on the study of human behavior and health outcomes and are designed for any student who wants to:
- Pursue advanced learning in these areas
- Add an emphasis to their existing major of study
- Highlight a specialization in their current or future occupation, and/or
- Demonstrate higher-level learning in these areas to graduate schools
