Tim Yett

Tim Yett joined the College of Nursing in 2022 as an assistant professor of nursing. He is a retired military officer (lieutenant commander), serving overseas with the U.S. Army and Air Force, retiring in 2018 from the Commissioned Corps of the United States Public Health Service.

More recently, he worked as an adjunct clinical instructor at Â鶹´«Ã½ Fox since January of 2022 and as a nurse faculty volunteer in 2020-21. In addition to his duties at the university, Tim worked as a director’s assistant for the Department of Veterans Affairs at the Salem Veterans Center in Salem from 2019 to 2022.

His experience in the field also includes eight years as a part-time faculty member at California State University, Dominguez Hills (2010-18). He was also a senior clinical nurse with the Department of the Interior’s National Park Service at Yosemite National Park during that same time frame (2011-18). In all, Tim has logged more than 25 years of experience in the profession, beginning his nursing career in 1995 as a mental health nurse in Santa Barbara County, California.

He completed Â鶹´«Ã½ Fox’s Doctor of Education program in 2022 and holds both a master’s degree in nursing: nurse educator (2010) and a bachelor’s degree in nursing (2005) from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He previously earned an associate’s degree in nursing from Santa Barbara City College (1997).

He lives in McMinnville with his wife Annette and attends Church on the Hill in McMinnville. His interests include alpine skiing in the winter and fly fishing, camping, hiking, and climbing in the summer. He also enjoys playing guitar and the Native American flute, and he’s a portrait and landscape professional photographer.
