Records were meant to be broken, and for the third consecutive year the Â鶹´«Ã½ Fox admissions team did just that, enrolling a record 3,931 students.
All told, it’s the 26th time in 29 years the university has established an enrollment record, dating back to 1986 when the total attendance was just 549 – less than the size of the 2015 freshman class. The 2015 total includes 2,276 traditional undergraduates, 1,340 in graduate programs and 315 in adult degree programs, and received a boost from 740 new or readmitting traditional undergraduate students, including 610 freshmen.
To accommodate the growing student population, construction was completed on the 146-bed Brandt Residence Hall in August, and a new 900-seat dining hall will be unveiled in the summer of 2016 (more on construction updates). Plans also call for the expansion of academic space for high-demand majors like cinema and media communication and engineering.
